Fuel price

Post by DonkeyOTay »

I can't understand that when crude oil prices and prices at the petrol pump are falling that meanwhile our home energy bills are rising. Looking around the energy suppliers they are all charging up to the max they are allowed by the regulator Unless I've missed one.
They make it very difficult to find out how much they are charging per Kwh or btu. They use different units of measurement that makes it difficult to compare. If you contact them they will only quote you an estimated monthly payment which is just a con.
What matters is the price per Kwh and that is always buried. You can find it if you dig but they don't make it easy.

If anyone is ahead on this and can recommend a cheaper energy supplier I would genuinely appreciate the advice.

I've been in dispute with British Gas for a year. I've given up any hope of them showing any competence and passed my case to the Ombudsman. Last August they said I owed them £5000+ when, in fact they owed me £3000+. I've done all the work sorting out their mistakes; they over estimated the electric (we have solar panels) but their best blunder is that for 3 years they have taken the gas readings as in cu ft when the meter is in cu metres! (I know a cu ft is much less than a cu metres but I've discovered that a cu.ft really means cu.ftx100.) This means they've charged me 2.8 times too much for gas and ignored my evidence backing this claim.
The moral of this story is check your bills, they are thieving .........

Oh my word!!! See this is why I won't have a smart meter, they are incompetent and they don't care either.
