The one that's really irritating me at the moment is one that crops up every year for a few weeks. Shelling broad beans. I grow them every year as I love their taste but after a lifetime of them I haven't found an easy convenient way of shelling them.
Another job that I hate is a year-round job. Changing the bedding, especially the cover on my duvet.
What's your least favourite domestic job?
@Alan for me its making the bed daily, wife insists it be done so-so like they do in a 5 star hotel. Its become a task that we share, that for the first 50 years she did it by herself. On changing the bed its done weekly with my help.
Being in Canada the extreme winters is having to put out the weekly super size garbage bin to the curb some 30 feet from is resting place. Most winter days between Jan - mid April I have to shovel my way (that sometimes can take 15 mintues after a nightly snowfall) to get to the bin parked at the side of the house, and during the winter months its also difficult due the the pile of snow having to at times putting out the trash from the kitchen to the bin. After the bin pick up, more snow, the bin is sitting, lodged from the snow piled around it from the snowplow waiting for me to place it back to its parking spot.
I can never get over come sun, rain or snow how there's never a disruption in garbage pick up.
Cleaning horizontal blinds! absolute dust holders. No easy method, each little section between the vertical support straps needs doing individually. Worst investment ever made
