Went to Parish church from 1951 to 1959. Head of Junior School was Mr Myers. Education I received was second to none in the 3r's and wider curriculum. Mr Myers should have been prosecuted for sadism and sexual abuse of boys as anybody who attended will testify.

I attended from 1951 to 1956. Good education, but Mr Myers (Head of Juniors) put the fear of God into everyone. He used the cane frequently on both boys and girls. I remember meeting him by chance years after I had left school and he still terrified me. They don't make them like that any more - thank goodness.

I had a very good grounding at this school and fond memories of the maypole dance, snowball fights at lunch time with Micky Myers also joining in. The school assembly with miss Bradbury playing the piano (Jesu joy of all mankind) every time I hear that tune it takes me back. We had some sort of concert one year where I think queen bordicia was the main character. Learning how to budget with mr liversley put me in good stance for future life (I think he married one of the other teachers). I still have my autograph book with signatures in bringing it with me when I emigrated to melbourne Australia. And the Chinese/malayian student teachers who encouraged us to have penpals (I'm still in touch with mine).

My mum went to Parish Church in the 1930s. I'm currently doing research for her eulogy. Has anybody any info? I always thought she went there until she was 14 but I don't think that's right. Parr Mount has also been mentioned.
