|Gerard Street extended from College Street, starting from the junction with Oldfield Street and extending further to Gerards Lane. Eventually that stretch of road was absorbed by College Street.
Sir Thomas Gerard of Bryn married into the Windle family and became the lord of the Windle manor. Gerard Street and Gerards Lane were probably named after him.
