The old priest told me that they had had a burial ground near to where St Theresas is - off Knowsley Road - Old Eccleston I think he called it - grassed over now I believe.

Central library has a reference book which you can look at - cannot be taken away, it has details names, inscriptions and maps of where graves are. It was compiled by Margaret and Pauline of the Family History group.

Lancashire Record Office also hold indexes to marriages in printed form from 1813-1899 and on CD 1841-1930, Indexes to baptisms in printed form 1785-1899 and Microfilm of original marriage records from 1786 and 1813-1941.Link to Church

One of my earliest St Helens ancestors (I've found so far) was the Reverend Jonathan Mercer who came to St Helens in the 1740s to take charge of this church. His family came from Allerton (then near Liverpool). He was one of my ggggg grandfathers. Link to Church
