Mad times in the 1950/60s

Remember when teenaged girls used to scream at their pop-idols at live shows? Their screams used to drown out the sound completely but that never deterred them. I remember going to a live show in Liverpool somewhere, I forget who the artists were, and barely hearing a word sung. I think it's one reason why pop-music never really appealed to me

I wore the clothes, but never screamed (well not for any singers) even though the 60s was an amazing time! I'd give a lot for a year when I was 18 again :)

About 15 years ago the wife and I went to see Joseph and the Technicoloured Dream Coat with a couple of top performers whose names I can't remember. The show was OK but my main memory is of a group of women, maybe in their 40s, who started screaming when the star of the show took to the stage. This so infuriated other members of the audience that they stood up and told them to shut up
