I did not know that there used to be a town called "Pilkington" near Bury.

Just found out by reading the first 2 pages of a book called Pilkington Family History 1066 to 1600.

First 2 pages attached if any one is interested.

Interesting. What became of the Pilkington family after the public flotation? Do they still live just north of the East Lancs Road by Windle Hall Fields

Lord Pilkington continued living in Windle Hall until he died. It was sold of by the family to a print maker I think. Its now been sold again and someone else has it .
