Regards the "walking day" pic.Its I believe either Ormskirk st Congs or Parish Church.They were the only churches I believe walked there.

Congs walked through lingholme and then lead Newtown and Toll Barr to Hewitt Ave.

When I was a teenager we used to run stalls.

One was those little metal racing cars through holes( we believe cut narrow at bottom of a board and bursting balloons not fully blown up.All that cheating and we were a church!!!

The Parish church one ran upto Rainford rd field.

When I was even younger went there once.

One item was this wooden horse consisting of 3 moving tubs you had to get across to grab the head.

Another was a massive pole and hanging from it was a small filled sack.You were blindfolded and had to hit it with a long pole.

I said as far as I am aware trying to identify who was walking!!!

That only ormskirk st congs or brook st as it is also known.AND parish church walked down Duke st To their respective fields.

My wife walked with parish church and I walked with congs.So we were both wondering about the pic.BURP BURP,!simples.

WAS IT A CONGS WALKING DAY OR A PARISH CHURCH ONE?.

We was in but left about quarter  to 2. Only 1 on the bar!!!I busy.was at a  relative funeral.

BJL.knew it was Duke st .it was our interest in the walking day.people. Just trying to find church.Because it could only have been one of our 2 churches.
