I was time scaling when the area around there was demolished.

I do have vivid dreams. Even in colour.

I can remember going round the back around the old market hall area and a derelict building with pillars.i know there were derelict buildings still standing when I was a child as well.

I wonder how dreams work.past or future events? How far back can you dream about.

I was placing the old town hall as you go down to the right of the Parish church with the little row of shops on your right.

As you got to the end that was where it was?.

You then turned right that took you to the side of the market hall.

My point was that the building could have been derelict for years?even after the new town hall was built.

I know from family that my gran was in the new town hall when the tower was on fire.

Remember 5he alleyway well!.

Looking across your pic HORT.right at end then left that's where I believe the old town hall used to be.

Where you see the shop to the left was a nice little cafe mum used to go to.As you came out the alley to left was a derelict building.Whether true or not?was lead to believe it used to be communist party  building?

I have read some notes from Tom Slemen.Where people have gone round an area in lpool.

Then some time later tried to find the same location and cannot as they remembered it was.

Why I note about the pillars ?I didn't even know what It was but I had a location in my mind where it was. Then when going through old pics etc on this site

Obv the building was demolished but was there anything built in its place ?

If ut was a retro thought. How far can you retro?

Does anyone else remember things that never happened? I've questioned some things ingrained in my head that could not possibly have happened. Trying to analyse it I believe I've had the same impressions  imprinted in my head during different fevers and until I questioned them took them for real. For example, I was convinced I had played in the Middlesex 7's. Recently I questioned this and took the trouble to check all the teams that have taken part. Unfortunately there's no evidence for my two 50m+ interception tries. I can remember the tries but nothing about the changing rooms etc.

The original Town Hall was in Market St, St Helens

Thanks Kizzy for clearing that up, now I realise where Dexter was talking about and I apologise to Dexter & BJL who had already posted a Photo of it, but it didn't register in my brain. 🤔

On saying that, I don't remember it as a Town Hall, but I do remember The Old Market Hall very well.

I don't remember it either, it was long gone before my time but I've got some books with all those old photos of St Helens, (never noticed the pic had been posted earlier).

Another example of failed name changes. Although some name changes have stuck - like the difficult to pronounce Brasserie Chalon for the former Angel. Unlike the alienating Anfield Arms - which sensibly reverted to Cowley Hill Vaults.
