I do remember the ones in the basement, but I think there was a ladies lav upstairs as I can just remember my mum taking me there as a little child. She died in 1951 so it was probably mid 1940s

I used to use these premises from about 1950 whenever I went into town with my mum. I recall the mens toilets were downstairs (underground) at the end of Westfield St. and the ladies in the rear of the building at ground level (centre of building) I've no memory of another toilet unless the building was changed before 1950

Yes many many times and including when that photo was taken in 1978 - to watch Superman and Watership Down

My memory of the Savoy was some used to open the door downstairs near toilets to let friends in.

Hippodrome used to have x rated films on as well as regular.The films were advertised on each side at the front.

I may be wrong about entrances but thought they had two different screens?
