There was a program I watched on BBC the other day called Click this chap was testing the new 5g just installed on the Barsalona underground he had it on for about one hour and it exceed his 10 gig limit

Another white elephant in St Helens

Limited availability 
Limited number of the most modern handsets are actually compatible with it
Very expensive
Only a small number of people will initially be able to get it for a while
No iPhone option yet.
The number of networks to offer it is limited
Even then it's only in some cities. 20 or so just now.
It will be at least 2022 before EE has the whole of UK covered, so it states.
Some say it won't ever work properly because it doesn't rely on wires but ethereal connection which will keep dropping. Plus we haven't even yet invented some of the technology it will require.

 

But hey, let's spend that wad of cash on this dying town.  Never mind, they can sell us more stuff.
