Donkey O'Tay Esq. 4,169 #5 Posted February 8, 2020 The clock was maintained by the college which was very expensive, £800 a visit from the expert who maintained it. The building has now been sold to a developer so it is no longer the responsibility of the college and the developer hasn't bothered. Olliebeak 1,086 #6 Posted February 8, 2020 I'm sure it was stopped for quite a few years - then somebody decided to try to get it 'fixed'. That did actually work for a short while, but it's been like this for absolutely ages now. Not a good impression on entering the town along one of the main routes in!
kizzy 2,149 #7 Posted February 8, 2020 It's a shame as the clock was a feature of the town seen from many areas and a significant landmark over the years. I loved it as a child when I travelled into the town centre with Mum. Nowadays I live within sight of it but it seems to have been broken for years. Be nice to see it working again
