Was that little park the Quaker graveyard?  Are the burials still there or were they removed.

Yes it is.It was plagued for years with men going in with the st.helens concoction that included cider bought from the local supermarket that was there nearby what is now B & M.

It was then closed. I assume its open .

I understood that the rock was not a meteorite, but was a geological erratic deposited in St Helens during the retreat of the glaciers in the last ice-age.

Its not a meteorite, its a boulder from Westmoreland, brought here by glaciers.

The park is open.

But is the park open?.

It looks like you can easily access it from the street.

If that was a meteorite and it hit St Helens, the town wouldn't exist now.

I never said it had hit st.helens.I was trying to remember from childhood about rumours what it was.

Then when saw foto remembered it was ice age stuff cos there was at least one similar at sutton park entrance when was a kid.

Council are doing a better job than any meteorite ,germans or ICBM,! could do.
