Windle Crossing Roadworks.

Posted (edited)

Here is an article in the Star about more road works at Windle "Island"

It is not an island and the crossing was "improved" some years ago resulting in the crossing being worse than it was before.

Then they did the same at Haydock Island, and Guess what?

After millions of pounds spent, the Haydock Island was worse than before.

So can we expect the same at Windle?

That is even worse than the last so called "improvement"

HORT you are soooo pedantic.Haydock isnt an island. So why dont you pick that. There are many places whose names depict VIEWS FROM AGES AGO.So do you expect all tbese to be changed? Its not just planners its also the people who cant read roadsigns, beat lights, get in wrong lane until last minute, cut up,tailgate.Plus shaving, eating brekkie, applying makeup etc as personally spotted using that area.

Plus they hsd complaints for years of people jaywalking across elr near haydock cos no safe crossing. So they built a metal bridge that no one uses!!!Daily you can see warehousing people climbing over central res and dashing across.even some carrying bike!!!

HORT get your eyes set on Haydock lane for future rants. When theyve done the new warehousing and crossings. I dont see any underpass or bridge. So wait till the accidents start as logistic workers start streaming across from Haydock.

Coming from St.Helens and turning right onto the M6 South is a big improvement in the Design from what it was.

Coming from Manchester and heading north on M6 is a great improvement with its right turn instead of having to go all the way round the "island"

Hope it works out better than the "Saddle" junction near ASDA in Wigan. They've just spent months and god knows how much money putting in cycle lanes.

In all the years using that junction I can't remember seeing a cyclist on there.

Just cottoned on! According to HORT we must now refer to the location as WINDLE CROSSING?

But surely a CROSSING refers to water or sea?well we do have windle BROOK nearby.

Anyone been along the Lancs or the Rainford bypass since the 10 mph speed limit came in  earlier this week?

If so what's it like?

They've now closed down the approach to Lee Green station up Eltonhead Road and Sherdley Road, for 22 weeks, even the link road access is blocked so now you have to drive all through the new estates of Sutton Heath. What a mess we have

From the boundary of St Helens /Knowsley to the boundary of St Helens/Wigan.

Its a long way.

The legal notice announcing it was the St Helens Star this week.
