Catholic burials in Billinge pre St. Mary's

Recommended Posts

Hi i've been researching the Wilson branch of my family tree, they lived in Bilinge dating back to 1841 according to census records. The family were catholics and St Mary's church was the family church, there first burial being in 1956. As St Mary's was built in 1828 with the graveyard coming later my question is were would previous catholic members of the family living in Billinge have been buried. I am planning on visiting Windleshaw Abbey graveyard but as i live in Manchester and don't drive it would be a long day if i am looking it the wrong place any help or advise would be greatly appreciated as i am really struggling with this side of the family. Thank you
