leschip
All Prescotians will know where this is. But what is it's correct name ? Link to comment
boxkey4
It's at the rear of the cemetery, but I'm buggered if I know it's name. Link to comment
Thumpa lumpa
is it called Garden Walk Mr B Link to comment
Olliebeak
I thought 'Garden Walk' was the other side of the Cemetery - behind Sewell Street/off Manchester Road. I know that this entry goes from Vicarage Place to Wood Lane; and that Wood Lane used to be known as 'The Wood' - but that particular part in the photograph eludes me completely. Thought at first it was 'Rowson's/Rowley's Walk' but think that was closer to where I'm living . Link to comment
jvy20
No idea Les - will try Church Walk Link to comment

stephen nulty
I always thought that it formed part of Vicarage Place, given that the Vicarage is actually half way down there !! But I'm sure Les knows better Link to comment

underdog
While we're waiting for enlightenment, anyone know where this dated tablet is situated? Yes - but I'm not telling Back to the subject in hand - I always thought (without any evidence mind, just a theory) that the entry might have been the original Vicarage Walk & the name was later applied to the part with the houses. GeoffB
Just checked an 1891ish map of Prescot - it is clearly labelled The Wood http://www.berrymckenna.org/index.php?id=6&root=65&mt=4 Link to comment
leschip
Maybe Mr B. But the PO Walk Sort c 1971 gave it as Church Entry. I did the route/walk plan in 1972. Link to comment
leschip
c1930 Vicarage Walk. Athough the PO had it as previously noted, Church Entry https://www.dropbox.com/sc/7ao1nhn7xbubyss/AADLC_DgkMHpTilkERaUrBgJa Link to comment
gervassutti
It's a cracker Les and one I hadn't seen previously. Nice touch by the photographer exposing the church steeple through the foliage. Link to comment
