Catherine Siggins Born 1873 St Helens

Recommended Posts

Hi

Wondered if anyone would be able to help on this.

I was hoping to locate birth/baptism information for

Catherine Siggins Born possibly Sept 1873 St Helens

I think she died around Oct 1874, St Helens.

She was more than likely baptised in a catholic church but I'm not sure.

I am interested in the parents names.

Any assistance would be very much appreciated or if you could point me in the right direction of where I should be looking.

Many thanks.

Hi,

Not conclusive but other Siggins born St Helens around this time are Patrick, Thomas & Ellen

1891 Census shows these 3 children living with widowed mother Mary aged 37 b Ireland living at 10 Bold St, St Helens

1881 Census has the children with father William aged 40 Glass Worker b Ireland and mother Mary living 15 Frazer Court, Parr

You are right about birth year and death year for Catherine - her burial is on St Helens Council deceased search

Hi Jvy20, I don't have full access to any other Censuses except the ones on Connect at the moment.

If you got your info. from a subscribed site, did you notice if it said anything in the column where it shows

no. of living/dead children, as that might help?

Hi Rosewood,

I noticed that on the 1891 Connect Census they are down as Liggins, looks like transcription error.

Maybe these links might also help in some way? Apologies if you have already seen these.

Hi

Just wanted to thank you for all your help.

I suspected that Catherine was the sister of Thomas, Patrick, Ellen and there was a Mary as well. Their father was William Siggins who sadly died of Bronchitis. Their mother was Mary Siggins nee Murphy.

I was just hoping for concrete evidence that Catherine was another daughter.

I had seen the rootschat postings all relatives looking for the same information as me about our Great Great Grandparents.

I will check the baptism records for Holy Cross and Sacred Heart at the Library.

Once again many thanks.
