At least the link gives a clue as to a likely date for the scales date and as you said earlier the only W Abbot I can see in Eccleston Street at that time is the Flour and provision dealer

Just for my own curiosity, I looked up William Abbott on the Censuses on Connect.

He was living with his Wife Jane and Family at ? No. Eccleston Street in 1841. It says he was born in 1796.

He was also on the 1851 Census at 32 Eccleston Street, same wife and family, saying he was born in 1794.

After that he disappears, probably deceased?

There is a William Abbott who dies in 1958 his age is shown as which would give a date of birth of 1792

 

Burial: 20 Sep 1858 St Mary the Virgin, Prescot, Lancashire, England

William Abbott -

Age: 66 years

Abode: Prescot
