wrb Posted January 13, 2011 Share Posted January 13, 2011 I am looking for any info on the following 3rd Qtr 1960 Albert Bowes - Slater St Helens 10f 1012 Elizabeth Slater - Bowes St Helens 10f 1012 Albert Bowes born 1898 he died aged 74, 20th November 1972 son of George & Mary Ann Bowes nee Leyland, buried St Helens cemetery section 47 grave 67 I have photo, he married Esther Stringfellow at Holy Trinity Parr Mount June 7th 1919 wit Albert Edward Heys & Elizabeth Fifian Caroline Chadwick, no idea who theses are Elizabeth Slater died aged 93 buried March 17th 1988, she is her own, St Helens cemetery section 56 grave 85 no headstone just a pot, this is all the info I have on, Who was this Elizabeth Slater? She outlived Albert and didn't want to bury him with his previous wife or his parents. Looks as if Esther died before 13/3/1958 and he remarried in 1960? Don't want to send you in the wrong direction but found one who fits the bill - died 1988 age 93 but her death is registered in Preston and South Ribble - she may have died there but buried in St Helens ? Paula Yes Paula and they will tell you the address where each burial took place from. I discovered I had a great aunt who died aged 8 hours in 1888 and was buried in a pauper's grave and tied up the address and name with my family living there in the census. wrb Posted January 16, 2011 Author Share Posted January 16, 2011 Just to put everybody in the right direction Esther Stringfellow born 1899 is the daughter Thomas & Betsy Maria Stringfellow nee Marsh she married my Uncle Albert, Esther died 9th March 1958 buried section 65 grave 446 (I have photo) with Albert mother & father, Albert them married Elizabeth Slater 1960 no location of marriage found, Albert & Esther had two children Albert 24th September 1919 and John 1939 he died a few weeks old buried in a public grave. Liz I will P.M. you with my address, did Elizabeth Slater go by the name of Ellen this is whay my side of the family belive her name was, I have Ann Lythgoe's obituary from St Helens Reporter Saturday 9th February 1963 Saturday, if you would like it.
