Callander
My great2 grandfather William Blanshard was the first Works Manager of Pilkington Brothers, having moved to St Helens from South Shields in or around 1830. Members of the Blanshard family worked at PB's from 1830 until 1963, terminating with the death of my uncle Albert Blanshard. To the best of my knowledge, I am aware of all Blanshards who lived in or around St Helens during this 130 year period, but if any have got through the net.! jacksonblanshard
My ggg grandfather was William Blanshard (born 1822ish South Shields), is this the same one I wonder? My line is through his son James Vincent, then his son William Joseph who was my grandfather ( died before I was born) Hope you are still on this site, would be interested to see if there is a connection. Dave
The following was mistakenly sent as a post report by @Callander. My ggg grandfather was William Blanshard (born 1822ish South Shields), is this the same one I wonder? My line is through his son James Vincent, then his son William Joseph who was my grandfather ( died before I was born) Hope you are still on this site, would be interested to see if there is a connection. I have only just seen your reply to my reference to William Blanshard. Your William Blanshard is certainly from the same family. I am aware of your Blanshard connection as I have seen the grave of William/Ernest Walter and James Vincent in Hard Lane Cemetery.
