  2. Not the best of weather but taken yesterday in the rain. I never imagined seeing this yet alone thinking they would of built on the Greenins Industrial Estate behind the houses on Reginald Rd and also EMR ( Aka Fraggy),i was brought up there in the 70's. Chandos Remediation Ltd is working on behalf of European Metal Recycling Ltd (EMR) to remove a bridge wall at Reginald Road to allow for landscaping on the housing development site. 3. Yesterday i went up to Reginald Road in Sutton to where i once lived. I was brought up and lived in the middle block in the early 70's before we moved to Junction Lane, late 70's. Behind this tin fence was an industrial estate named 'Greenins' back then, with different units on there. As children we used to play around the carpark and talk to the security guy at the barrier. (2 guards/different shifts/one nice and one a * *************************************************************) On one of these pictures below i put my camera over the fence and got the Fountain. It was a working fountain back then and we as children sat around it just watching the water sprinkle out (that's when it was working) and about a foot deep and that was with rain.(I'm sure it was a 3 tier but the more you think of it the more you can't remember) Reginald Road,Sutton. by Robbob 2010, on Flickr Behind the tin fence by Robbob 2010, on Flickr Behind the tin fence the Old working fountain that we played around in the 70s by Robbob 2010, on Flickr Reginald Road,Sutton. by Robbob 2010, on Flickr Reginald Road,Sutton. by Robbob 2010, on Flickr Nextdoor is EMR..former 'Fragmentation' back then which is CLOSING tomorrow,Fri 15th Feb 2018. I went yesterday with Les from Atlas Salvage for a ride up to get these as he was weighing cars in,i nip on the yard nearly everyday to the lads for a chat and nosey. There's scrapyards from all over the place that go there plus other companies..i bet it was a goldmine. Again as kids we would go next door from the fountain to the Alsation/German Shepard at the yard gate.We knew that we'd only last under a minute at the gate as we could hear a chain scrape along the floor with a Wolf like dog running up to us with spiky hair and piercing eyes..i just hope it was sweat running down me legs running away I was told that the former Greenins industrial estate is becoming an housing estate..it's got to be. I really hope which i doubt it that the fountain is kept as it'll make a nice feature done-up. Also in time EMR will become an housing estate i guess but it's going to be soaked up with chemicals from all these years it's been there and i'm sure there was an article in the Star to do with that place a few years ago with Junction Stn.? 5. I was only passing quickly yesterday and got these,i couldn't get what i wanted but i can call back. Now i've named a few shops going back to when i was younger. This was my childhood being brought up in Junction Lane but for around 12:30 pm yesterday most shops was shuttered up or closed due to 'for sale',it's absolutely gone down hill. If my Nan and Grandad who brought me up came back now they would turn back. Going back to the 80's the village was booming with shoppers. 6. Being brought up in Sutton Junction the Monastery was a cut through either going/coming back from Sutton High School or going/coming back from friends,on a nearly daily basis at the time in the 80's It's all changed now with new build houses thats taken over the old building where the Monks lived. I remember every time i cut through the path past the Church on my pushbike/walking alone or with friends past the Monastery building i always was cautious and looked up spotting Monks peeping through the windows. They would watch but when looking up and spotting them they would bob down..verrry eerie. Here is some pictures i got the other evening.. Now as far as i remember this was called Monastery Lane?
