  1. Had many a lunch time pint in the Bulls Head Pub when I worked at Crosby Springs, if I remember correctly Winnie McMillan was the landlady.
  2. I loved black treacle butties when I was a kid, also black treacle on toast was great.

  7. Thanks Parrdog, I’d forgotten about Torchy I always watched it as a kid, I see what you mean about it being a bit scary, the faces of the puppets remind me of old black and white American horror films about aliens.

  14. Does anyone remember Bryant’s fish and chip shop; it was on the other side of the road to Alma’s café, I’m not too sure but I think there was a pet shop near Bryant’s fish and chip shop. Another fish and chip shop was Hunt’s I think that was in Higher Parr Street. Anybody know if there’s any photos knocking about, of Jackson St, Higher Parr Street, Traverse St, Langtree St, South John St, area from the 1960’s
