A pie is a pie, but i've found one where I'm living now that holds up to any I've had from th'ome town. Butcher's | Gigli's, Lytham St Annes | England WWW.GIGLISLYTHAMSTANNES.COM Gigli's, Lytham St Annes is a family Butcher's shop, Pie makers and Bistro on the Fylde Coast. We specialize in serving the best quailty meat and produce and serve an extensive breakfast menu in the bistro.
  3. I had so much hassle with this bank whilst caring for my dad and looking after his finances. Some of the staff were real jobsworths and the manager was some Swedish guy who didn't have a bloody clue.
  4. Lovely old building sadly stuck in an area of regeneration. Sutton needs it to be honest. Especially where the chapel is. The area has been run down and neglected for far too long.
  5. I've seen recent photos of the caverns on facebook, it looks like it's collapsing badly now and doesn't look safe. Don't blame the guy getting it filled in. Too many idiots these days spoiling everything.
  6. The needle returns to the start of the song and we all sing along like before.

and we'll all be lonely tonight and lonely tomorrow :music_walkman:

  7. I found the pic on the Parr past and present facebook page and from the graininess of it I think its probably from a newspaper
  8. @Robbob2010 Mr Draper, I nearly had the cane from him for throwing stuff in the maths area. Mrs Owen was deputy head and they both put the fear of god in me that day. good memories, haha. sorry for going off topic from the thread.
  9. Overheard in the Thriftys shop in Sutton that the Vulcan pub is closing down in a few weeks. Another one bites the dust.
  10. My neck of the woods there Rob. Been a lot going on over the bonk lately, testing the ground for chemicals from what I've heard. I love going over there for a walk.
  11. The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men

Aye, its always Aldi for me Jeff. Bugger Tesco

  12. Hello Catherine,

All the photos used in the youtube video should be somewhere in the photo galleries on here and theres probably a lot more of tontine street. I can't help you with a date for the photo but try contacting Dave, the site owner. He may be able to help more.

  13. For gods sake, piczo sites should be condemned to the depths of hell and all your pics are robbed off other sites. Cavemaster, how long does it take to light 1000 candles and spread them around the caverns and why do i get the feeling were never going to see this sacred map or any pics of yours?
  14. What programme do you produce? Wouldnt mind watching that.
  15. Load of pics of the caverns in the st.helens photographs section plus a video in the video section. I wasnt having a pop at your webpage, i just think for a site to be taken seriously you need to move away from the freebie sitebulder ones and have a go at a proper one and a subject like the caverns deserves better. 16. A member team would be great. Someone start one. I'll join it.
  17. I think the caverns deserve a better website than a piczo one.
  18. A question. How do you know you have seen at least 3 miles of them when your stuck down a dark pothole or tunnel? How do you measure distances in dark confined spaces?
  19. The road leading up the caverns is signposted as private but is also signposted as a public footpath. When i went up there recently with DS, we parked by the farmers field, walked up the road an skirted round the edge of another farmers field to get to the caverns. You dont enter the grounds of the house nearby and their are no signs saying its private land.
  20. Your cameras better than mine DS, nice pics. Reflecting upon today i can say that i never realised how deep the caverns went and we only scratched the surface really. There are a lot of little potholes and tunnels that look like they run very deep but it was very damp and slippy, water dripping from the roof of the caverns and running down to god knows where. I can understand there being an underground lake after today. I think we would have tried to go deeper if we had been better equipped.
  21. Big ball of string and a torch, maybe some chalk, and we'll be laughing. Always wanted to go potholing/caving. Best not go down there in my new saints top though. Looking at the pics again though, the second one down seems like a pool of water to me. I wonder if thats the so called underground lake that been mentioned in this thread previously.
