  1. Such a clear photo thanks, it’s great seeing the hustle and bustle of the town in what looks like the early 1900s.
  2. Hi Dave, I know Gervase came from Derbyshire, but I haven’t found any connection to Huyton or Prescot as yet. Perhaps Gervase came to St Helens because he had family in those areas, it will be interesting to find out if that was the link.
  3. Thanks so much Dave, I am really excited to see this! I was beginning to think I would never find a photo with a Stringfellow sign on the front of the shop I have been searching for ages.
  4. This is a long shot after four years! Do you still have the bottle from Stringfellows and if so would it be possible for you to take a photograph of it? I am researching Gervase Stringfellow as part of a family tree and it would be a wonderful addition.
  5. I found the photograph, it’s brilliant! Thank you for your help. 👍
  6. I am researching the Stringfellow family who had shops in St Helens and Eccleston, they were living in Park House, Eccleston Park in the 1911 Census. I came across some posts on this site from people who remember Stringfellows, which was great, but I would dearly love to find a photograph of one of their shops, an advert or anything with their name on it. If anyone could help, I would be very grateful.
