    Steve Prescott Foundation.

    By Parrite69,
In the past I've given to the Steve Prescott Charity but I now question what exactly they actually donate to charities? Their accounts for 2017 (they have not submitted accounts yet for 2018) puzzle me. https://apps.charitycommission.gov.uk/Accounts/Ends95/0001121395_AC_20171231_E_C.pdf The Kilimanjaro trip generated donations of £233.000 but cost £133,000. The 10k run generated £46,000 but cost £33,000. Overall from £438,000 in donations only £119,000 went to charities.

Its just a small piece complete with a picture, evidently the young man  lived in Newlands Rd, Haresfinch but maybe some relative might just appreciate it.    Please pm.   Dave not sure if this would be the right place or thread, move or remove if not acceptable.

    Spud-picking Holiday

    By Alan,
Anyone remember when the mid-October half-term school holiday was spent bent double picking potatoes that were unearthed by a tractor and hoe? I remember it like it was yesterday. You went to the farm-yard at first light, sat on a trailer and were driven to a potato field. You were issued with a sacking apron called a brat, assigned an area in the field and each time the tractor and hoe came round you rushed to load up your brat with spuds and transfer them to a wicker-work hamper before the the

    Junction Improvements? Again?

    By HORT,
I drove along the East Lancs today from Carr Mill towards Liverpool and encountered a mile of 30 MPH speed limit signs. Further on towards Windle just before the Junction with the Rainford bypass, a sign said that lane closures would occur next week to allow “Junction improvements”. Anyone know what is going on?
