Have you noticed that since we've been experiencing high temperatures that the Internet is awash with adverts for cheap so called air conditioners or coolers. Most of them are just fake ac units with nothing but a normal fan inside them - no actual cooling or de-humidifying at all. I wonder how many people have been taken in by these false claims. Youtube has videos exposing some of them such as this:

Facebook is notorious for allowing adverts for similar pieces of trash. Just don't do it.

My wife thinks an electric fan cools the room when all it does is circulate the air and warm it up as the motor gets warm.
