Men and women's RL Challenge Cup Finals at Wembley

Does the RFL, the game's ruling body need to rethink these events? I never missed attending a Wembley Final between 1986 when I was involved with the professional game until Wembley was being redeveloped in the late 1990sand cannot recall the stadium looking as bare as it did today. Neither can I recall snotterings like Wigan women inflicted on Saints lasses and Wigan men inflicted on Hull KR men. Both events did nothing for our game

I totally agree Alan.
What is the answer?

It's one for the RFL and clubs themselves to answer. Probably initially by taking a poll of clubs and their life membership supporters. Speaking personally, I believe that due to costs and travel issues, Wembley in particular and London in general lost their appeal many moons ago

Plus media coverage. Watching the game in your local amongst a crowd of mates with a pint in your hand and a great atmosphere, costs a fraction of travel and London prices.

Surely, somewhere like Old Trafford would be a more suitable venue for the finals though the RFL have probably entered a contract with Wembley to hold the events there.

The Final moved to Wembley in 1933 and apart from the war years and the stadium redevelopment has mainly been there ever since. I like going to Wembley, its the national stadium. Old Trafford is just a football stadium that is decaying and already has the Grand Final.

I enjoyed going to Wembley too, we usually made a long weekend of it taking in West-End shows etc but times have changed and there isn't the money around for supporters these days, as evidenced by all the empty seats.
