DNA matching

There seem to be dozens of new DNA matches appearing on my list every day, possibly as a result of kits being given as Christmas presents. Looking down the list of the latest, most of them have no trees or unlinked trees. Give them time, you might think, but experience says that if many of them even make or link in a tree, the majority won't leave many clues and have maybe one or three people marked 'private' (because they are alive).
Hello dear Ancestry user,
I see that you're a DNA match with me. When I see your name in my list it says that you have a tree. But when I look it only has one 'private' person in it. It has been like that for over 7 years. Is there a chance that you might do everyone a favour by kindly unlinking that tree from your DNA profile?
Thanks in advance.

A lot of them on Ancestry don't have a clue I've learned over the years, that's why I keep mine private, to see the wood around the trees 😁

I am working on that family tree to share Dave, it's got me into a rabbit hole. I realised I did some of those lines very quickly for the process and didn't flesh them out much, which is why its taking so long. I doubt you will learn much more than you know though.

AS an aside have you been watching the latest puzzle on the Madeleine McCann thing?
There is a girl in Poland who insists she is the missing girl, she has the eye defect and has a DNA test which shows that the samples taken from the crime scene match hers and that she has a link to the father, 69% I think. I don't know if that's true but her family and the McCanns have refused to share DNA to clear it all up. She just landed here and got arrested off the plane.

That's odd. It wouldn't normally be 69% to the father. Post us a news article.

I'm not saying I believe her, just that the DNA thing is bizarre. The BBC and others don't give all the details, only this Welsh one fleshes it out a bit. I've seen something online.

It's all very odd, the McCanns have dismissed her story completely but it's been hanging around for a while now. I don't believe it either, but has anyone seen the DNA results

Exactly. They charged her and the older woman with stalking the parents. What if it is her?

I have no clue if this picture has been fiddled with but it is of the girl who says she is Maddy on the left and one of the McCann twins now.
