Why on earth do men's pyjamas contain pockets in the trousers and jackets? We only wear the damn things to sleep in so four pockets per set seems totally pointless and a waste of money

Many people wear pyjamas when they're not going out, just for comfort, and it doesn't necessarily mean that they've slept in those same pyjamas. Someone once expressed amazement that I'd wear my jeans in the house, and it took a good while for me to get my head around what they meant. For a long time I never wore pyjamas for bed – just me and the duvet, but in recent years, when I've got dressed and if I'm not going anywhere, then it'll be pyjamas, particularly in winter when I want to save on heating; when I'll wear ones like these. It also helps if they have pockets. Not pointless. But then we're not talking about your silk pyjamas, Alan.
I have never wore a pair of jeans and never wore PJs since I was a child.

I'm one of those boring old farts when it comes to pyjamas and jeans. I wear jeans at home unless I'm going out shopping etc and as for pyjamas: at 10pm I go for a shower, put pyjamas on and am asleep by 10.30pm, get up at 7.30am and put my jeans on

I have an item of clothing that doubles up; sometimes it's a dressing gown, other times it's a house coat. Saves changing.
