I love a matinee. Today went to see a film called The Choral. It is set in Yorkshire and written by Alan Bennett. The storyline is basically how a choral society keeps going throughout the war. It is set in Saltaire and it is exactly how it is today and I doubt many would believe that it is a real place on the outskirts of Bradford and not a set. It is a great spot with a working men's club, Salt's Mill and of course the village. I just hope no southerners get wind of it and start moving UP NORTH ha! Anyway the real triumph of this film is the fact that Alan Bennett is still working in his 90s. He gets a bit morose at time and thinks he has lived too long but long live Alan because we need him and we need him to keep telling stories. I just find it all inspiring. Life begins at 80 now!
