Saints last night

Post by Alan »

They beat Hull FC by 16 - 10 but what an untidy performance

Agreed. I expected them to have won by about 12 or more.

They lost narrowly to Hull KR at Hull last night by 8 points to 12. I thought their defence was great but their attacking moves were very predictable. Certainly not the Saints we had enjoyed under previous coaching staff :(

I hope they improve for next Friday's Derby game at Peasley Cross as Wigan seem to be really back on form

The rot continues with last night's home defeat to Wigan. A better performance than their last few games but a long way off the Saints of old

You know I'm not much of a rugby fan, but I find the idea of the fandom to be a bit fascinating, so I wrote a little folk ditty about Saints.

Spoiler!
It's the weekend again
And I'm going to watch my team
Down at the Saints ground
I'll meet with all my pals
It's a proper camaraderie
A clique you cannot beat
Happy in my place
In my season ticket seat

Ohhhh… Saints! You give us the best days of our lives!
Through rain and wins and painful blows, you’re still our pride and joy!
From that first whistle to the final cheer…
We’ll follow you through every passing year!

I've got my red and white cap on
And a rugby shirt as well
I've never played the game myself
But at the ref I'll yell
I'll moan about decisions
I'll curse his wretched brain
Shouting "Are you blind, you fool?"
"Oh, not this crap again!"

Ohhhh… Saints! You give us the best days of our lives!
Through rain and wins and painful blows, you’re still our pride and joy!
From that first whistle to the final cheer…
We’ll follow you through every passing year!

When we win we're happy
That's when we celebrate
But if we lose the air is blue
As we leave through the gate
Lose or win, our moods defined
The talk throughout the week
Sometimes we're euphoric
Other times it's bleak

Yeah… Saints…
You give us the best days of our lives…
Best days of our lives…

What a finish to the game last night. I’m over in Tanzania working and managed to see the try (nit live). Blimey.

Well, I suppose it was inevitable that Saints have decided to let Wellens go and they are now looking for his replacement
