Not a fan of the vampire genre but I did enjoy Nosferatu as a piece of cinema.
I went into Brassic looking for a guilty pleasure binge watch but was pleasantly surprised at the quality writing, characters and variety and depth in story.
I'm not a fan of horror these days either. There's enough of it in real life these days. Nosferatu was always the most scary vampire one though, I watched the original the other night after showing my daughter how creepy it was to watch when I was young.
Old genealogists never die......they just lose their census.

The original Nosferatu was part of the German expressionist art movement - strong use of shadows, harsh lighting, angular looking - that's where its creepy quality comes from. These two films are similar:
This was a relaxing watch. It's an Italian film, but there's no dialogue. Beautifully shot and and very atmospheric sound design, watch it on a big screen and listen through headphones if you can.
I have recently been advised to go onto a site called Letterboxd ..........I am not promoting it but it is good for film buffs and its free.
The site enables you to build your own profile of the films that you have watched. You can even review them, have a wants to see list etc.
There is also a calendar so you can see what you have seen and look back on it and you can also follow people.
Saw Conclave at the cinema. Very interesting mystery and gives insight into how the Pope is elected for the uninitiated. Nice twist at the end. Can see why it won a Bafta. You can watch it on Amazon Prime but they want 16 quid to rent it but no doubt most folk have some sort of way around that! Unlike me haha
Not seen Conclave yet but I've read the Robert Harris novel it was based on.
I'd been aware of this film for decades mainly because of the ensemble cast, but had never got round to watching it til Friday.
A long watch at nearly 2.5 hours, and the tone of the film shifts starkly for the second half which feels a bit jarring. The good cast keeps it interesting but it promised more than it delivered overall.
Yeah, it was quite good. Just binged it. A fun fact is that a bit of it was filmed in and around the old Pilks Head Office building – pretending to be the Corby Council offices.
