If you were a member of the old site, I sincerely apologise for the recent disruption and upset caused by its closure. I was disappointed too. While the old site served us well for a time, it also had its share of problems, including software I wasn't happy with and other technical issues. The IP.Board software, while once ideal, had become less so with recent updates. So, we're starting fresh! This new platform has its own learning curve, but I'm confident we'll get the hang of it.
You'll need to re-register. For now, it's a traditional username and password setup, with an anti-spam check. You'll then need to click the confirmation link in your email.
Our validation email might go to your junk or spam folder, so if it doesn't appear in your inbox, then please check there.
After you've arrived as a new member, you'll be in that group until you've made about 3 posts. Then, as a 'regular member,' more areas will magically appear. There isn't much in them yet, but that's because it's all new.
I'd like to thank my old mate Neil, for much help and advice in setting things up.
Another thing to know is that when you're in the New Members group, you'll be keeping us busy approving your first three posts. That is unless we already know you and we can manually move you onto the next level. It is the way that the board works as default and sadly, due to the amount of AI-driven spam bots these days, it might be best to leave it this way for the foreseeable, anyway.
No like button—but many thanks for the new logo. I'm rubbish with stuff like that. Well, it works very differently to what I'm used to with this board.
Hi all great to be back on Connect. Well done Dave. It seems like this reboot is working. Now all we need is to get everyone back on. Btw all, I am now swimmer 2.
Whew! I think I made it - again! It was hard getting in here and I've no idea how I finally did it! I sort of.. got in yesterday then apparently I had to register which proved impossible. I'm praying this is it finally
Yes, it is a bit of a change, but we'll get used to it. There are still quite a few things to master on the admin side of things, and there is still a bit to do with that. It is a bit weird having no 'reactions,' where you could simply acknowledge a post with a 'like.'
We've already had three spammers managing to join and posting rubbish.
