Eric Frodsham ('BIG E') was one of the last, if not the last landlord in the 'Prince', he used to have 2 massive Great Danes that used to sit on the stairs. I think he moved to the Brown Edge from here.'BIG E' of course used to play for Pilks Recs in their Glory Years. This pub was the last "Beer House" in St Helens and closed 23rd August 1977.
