In another age when Mrs Clarkson ruled the roost; although it was located in Appleton Street then.

I remember Mrs Clarkson well. Miss Tully, Mrs Fairhurst, etc. I started at age 3 because they had room. We used to have a sleep in the afternoon. Orange juice and codliver oil were dispensed every day as well as a bottle of milk.

Oh yes I recall those names and how young we were then. So young in fact they made us sleep after lunch (ugh) on folding camp beds.
I too have that photograph..... must lift it out.

I was one of the first pupils to ever attend the new St.Joseph's junior school when it was completed.I think about 1967.Until then, the infant school was housed in 3 annexe classrooms,in the junior school in Peasley Cross,as Appleton Street infants was then closed. Was anyone else one of those kids ?
