The White Hart in the background brings back memories of meeting my brother there in the late 1960s on Thursday afternoons. It was a very nice pub frequented by postmen
i seem to recall.

This particular shop was also owned by Ray Cale, loose forward for 'Saints' in the early fifties, I remember that there were four trophies which Saints one in one season were on display there.Link to Photo

is Ernest Skaife's pork butchers at 160 Windleshaw Road. Ther's an entry in the 1895 Slater's directory elsewhere on the site.
