Darby and Joan Clubs

Recommended Posts

Following on from a thread relating to Tennis st/North . Alan was commenging about going thrre poss when like me he was at Cowley. He mentioned the DARBY AND JOAN CLUB thst i'd forgotten.

So wondered about the formation, background and how the disappeared from the face of the earth.

Where were they in st.helens and surrounding areas, who funded them, how wide was the usage, what facilities did they offer.

WAS ALAN EVER TEMPTED TO JOIN?
