Vince. I drive down there a lot and it breaks my heart to see all that crap dumped there. They should track the bastards down and give them ten years, and do you know what? They would sit in prison and complain that: can you believe it that I got ten years for dumping a bit of rubibsh. Vince they don't deserve to share our planet with us.

There was a programme on tv recently that traced such offenders, perhaps if someone could take the time to check the rubbish they may find a lead that could enable the council to prosecute

I hope that people are bringing things like this to the attention of the Council.

That particular pile looks as though somebody has been doing up a girl's bedroom - pink bed, pieces of wallpaper, an old carpet etc. The cost of cleaning that little lot should be added to their own personal Council Tax Bill if it's ever discovered who's responsible!

We had a case of the same problem on the verge just down the road from our house. I called our local councillor who got onto the Environment Services in the Council. They took away three bin-liners full of rubbish, found the likely details of the person who dumped it and will be mounting a prosecution. Message in this is that you pay your Council Tax that pays the Council, so make your Council work for you

Unfortunately Flytipping in this Lane is a regular occurence and the Council do remove it from time to time which costs money that comes from the Council tax payers .
It has been reported to the Council so it may be gone in a few days.
I drive past it 2 or 3 times a day so decided to take a picture to show people what some people think of their Countryside.
There is a Free Council Tip less than 2 miles in either direction One in St Helens and One in Widnes so there is absolutely no excuse.
Someone must have used a Van or Pick up truck to transport that lot, pity they cant install a camera to get a regristration number.

Locals always called it Union Bank Lane until the Council put up the sign "Finger House Lane" a few years ago..The Cattery is on the corner of Finger House and Tibbs Cross Lane
Apparently Finger house lane was the original name before Sutton Manor Colliery was built and the Lane curved at the railway bridge and came out near where the Colliery gates are now,.You may remember part of it remained as the road leading to Billy Fenneys Farm
It was blocked off to accomodate the Colliery and a new Lane called Union Bank Lane was constucted which joined FingerHouse Lane at the Bridge and came out at Jubitts Lane.
Hope this helps Devon Boy
