Anyone remember Mr Ball? He was our dentist and if I remember right, first time I went to him he was still using a treadle for the drill. Wouldn't give anaesthetics. How I ended up going into dentistry as a career heaven knows - unless it was to NOT be like him (that's for all of you who hate dentists).

Nanny, when I was young I asked my Grandad why he had false teeth, he said because it's better, I can take them out and watch them ache,Posted Image

I went to the butcher in Corperation street in my dinner hour and had to be sent home from work, had a real fear of dentist's after that
finally in later years I went to one on the East Lancs rd who held my hand and calmed my fears but I insisted he take all my remaining teeth out
as I didn't think I,d go again, he took his own life a few weeks later nothing to do with me I might add!
Now I go to the dentist with a smile though dont always come out with one when I get the bill.
