Hi Paula, the trouble is nothing looks the same anymore, I have been trying to remember which was grant street, as I lived in Talbot street off Kirkland street. I will get my barings and get back to you.

Right got my baring now Paula you lived two streets away from me, talbot street backed on to hope street and then grant street. Chippies in the area. Kirkland street, opposite the Kings Head Pub, Wilson street corner of the entry. Corner of Napier street, that was also a good one.

There was an abundance of chippies when we were growing up not so many now though.

A relation of mine had a chip shop in that area in the 60's her name was Bridie Winstanley, not sure which Street though might have been Napier.

Hi Tessmop, there were three chippies in the area you are talking about.
1. kirkland street opposite the Kings Head pub.

2. wilson street which was the next street to Napier street,
3 Napier street going towards campbell street I think it was.Posted Image
Hope that helps
