I wonder if you could help me Stephen? I've just found this relative who was killed in Action 8 or 9 August 1916, I think in France.
Peter was born 23 April 1893 Parr St. Helens and was 23 when he died.
The only reference that I can find was that he served with the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment but I couldn't imagine a St. Helens lad joining this regiment. As I've only discovered this information today, I haven't yet had time to look in the St. Helens Reporter for 1916. I know you have a great data base and could probably save me a bit of foot slogging.
