I had read the National Rail notice and was confused as to what was being closed.Can anyone explain the true nature of these works and how it affect road closure.
I hope I have met the criteria regards sending threads ,following a telling off from admin.Must do better in future eh?

Is it because of the electrification of the line? thats what they are doing by me at the moment at old lane railway bridge and then Eccleston Park bridge to follow, road closed for redesign of the bridges

Hi yes it is but cant place where Parr st bridge is.I cant think of a railway line crossing Parr st only the new saints bridge..I know they are doing one in Garswood as well.thanx

Prob solved its where Parr st starts that confused.Didnt think it went that far back.

Thanx for map.I knew there were various bridges around the station and that they were looking at working on various bridges.I believe also they are doing work extending platforms to accomodate more carriages.Didnt realise where Parr st actually extended to.Hopefully the electrification and more cariages will help commuters etc on Wigan to Liverpool line.

It was bugging me about Parr Street starting from Shaw Street - I was pretty certain that I remembered that bit as being Church Street.

Had to go for a nosey at the old Burrows Map - yup - there it was. Definitely used to be known as Church Street - thought the old memory cells were playing me up for a bit back there !
