Hi, I've found a relative from St Helens as an inmate at Nazareth House Convent, Wavertree, West Derby, Lancs. Does anyone know about this place? I think they had a reputation for cruelty and abuse? Were they like workhouses? How would someone find themself in there - was it poverty, or being an unmarried mother?

Thanks.
