Amazing pictures as always -Oy- !
The 'Port of Liverpool Building' photo looks like a drawing/painting to me for some reason.
Excellent! :)

Very atmospheric, Oy - colour just wouldn't have looked right on such a grey/damp day!

wonderful Liverpool images, there are many truly awesome buildings, so much history and interesting architecture, when I was 17 and worked at Pilkington's Head Office they sent me to aid staff in the Martin's Bank Building in the heart of the business capiital,I thought it the bees knees as I got plenty of luncheon vouchers!Posted Image

Great pics, and definitely benefitting from monochrome.

I always loved working on Princes Dock (2000-2004) so that I could just stroll along the waterfront as it’s such an amazing place. If you’re going to be in the area, you can actually get yourself a tour of the Liver Buildings by phoning up and making an appointment (I don’t have contact details). The tour takes you all the ay up to the roof, just underneath the huge Liver birds, and also inside the clock tower where you can see the huge clock faces. Well worth a visit.

I always liked this picture of the area, circa 1910. It shows the Port of Liverpool Building standing alone, as George’s Dock had only just been drained. While the Cunard Building doesn’t yet exist, just the hole for its foundations, the huge sign on the right says that the site has been acquired for the new offices of the Royal Liver Friendly Society.

Also in the forefront is the Liverpool Overhead Railway

Takes me back to 60s too and the era of Isle of Man and New Brighton ferries and seeing the big passenger liners on the closed-off part of the landing stage further down river

great pics,if only the docks like i remember them in 1947 could have been preserved,
it would be like bonfire night with camaras blazing, london would be no 2 tourest spot,
you would have had a beano in the old warehouses my OY,and the shots you could have took from the overhead
railway , wow
