Just heard today that the Bull and Dog is closed for Christmas. Anyone know what's happened

The Rifle pub in Duke Street which as been shut down for a while as reopened again,the new name is called Bar Rifle,i did not go in New Years Eve but i got told it is £2 a pint,also another bar in Duke Street called the Green Room was shut on New Years Eve.

the bull and dog is now shut,apparently the lease was up and the landlord offered a 15 yr one whiche he declined.

The Green Room in Duke St & O'Neills, belong to the same bloke so they just opened O'Neills NYE

We went into O,neills new years eve and it was packed out at nine o,clock had one pint and left .

do you think if some one opened a pub and kept it like the old
pubs that catered for people who liked a pub game,,
are a sing song with piano might do well,most bars now just dont want
to know anyone who remembers anything prior to the 80s,

The drinks trade is just responding to the time in which we live. It's no longer socially acceptable for a family man to spend half his wages in a pub. The disposable income is with the 18 to 30 year-olds and they prefer bars with loud music
