I'm not sure if I'm posting these correctly - but these are a couple of my rather feeble attempts with my camera.

Zoomed in on the same trees in the top photo - it was the colours that took my attention in this view.

Posted Image

One of the donkeys at the Rare Breeds Croft, Fort Augustus - at least he kept still because I was stroking his nose. Trouble was that I had to hold the camera with one hand while clicking.

Posted Image An attempt at a close up of a thistle flower - not too bad from a standing position, just looking down on it!

It is, Clancy - Glen Nevis, just outside Fort William. The mountain to the right is the lower slopes of Ben Nevis.

It would be lovely to stay there, I've never been that far north. When we were there 5 years ago we stayed in a beautiful B & B in Brig O'Turk.
It was really gorgeous and I'd love to see more of Scotland Posted Image

I love Glen Nevis and the Ben! It's been a few years since I was up there - thanks for jogging the memories :)

Some lovely colours going on in that first shot!

Great work, Ollie. Do you do requests??
Clancy (and others) never mind Scotland. Try the Isle of Mannanin. But leave the Manx Whisky on the shelf.

Thanks for the compliments folks - I just wish I knew how to get them 'crystal clear' like Oy does. I suppose it comes with practise and experience - but it's so infuriating when images aren't 'spot on'.

Love the Isle of Man too, les - one of my sons used to live there and his eldest was born there. We call him 'our little Manx scouser'.

Oy - Glen Nevis is definitely 'somewhere special' - similar to Glen Coe, but not quite as 'foreboding'.

Clancy - A little memory of your visit to the Trossachs.

Swimmer- We had a fabulous holiday, but unfortunately the weather was definitely not good. While you all had your wonderful Late-September Heatwave - we had just one nice day.

This was the nicest day of our holiday!

View down Glen Nevis towars Sgurr a M'haim on the same lovely day.

Thanks jmosh - those trees are at the entrance to the Caravan Park where we stay. It's only a small place, but very well kept with trees, shrubs and wildlife a speciality. When you've stayed in a caravan with a family of pine martens nesting underneath it, pheasants running around inbetween the caravans plus a red squirrel visiting the picnic table and fat balls that you put out for the birds, you know you're privileged :).
