I know that by all natural laws in our game I should hate him. Past Chairman of both the RFL and of Wigan and a bookie (how low can any man get?) but I have a lot of time for him. He helped me enormously at Carlisle Border Raiders RLFC in the 1990s.

Anyway, he's been quite ill and has now resigned his soccer interests at Deepdale, see
