I think I read somewhere a while ago that St Helens council had a grant from the Lottery to digitise some of their records.I so how is this project going?

I think it was to do with taking all the information from the old typed or hand written card indexes, putting it into a database and making it accessible from the web. It was done - the link is around somewhere in one of the topics. I think that it's just the same info that you would have found if flicking through the cards. I got an impression that the lottery money was used employing a person or people to oversee some volunteers who typed it into the database.

This might be it http://calmview.sthe...ov.uk/calmview/
