Remember graduating from Dandy and Beano to the serious stuff like Rover, Hotspur and Wizard?

Anyone remember those American comics that came out of Burtonwood? Stuff like Captain Marvel, Superman and Batman.

Then we had the British comic revolution with The Eagle (glossy paper and therefore unfit for lavvy use) complete with Dan Dare and a motley collection of aliens like the Mekon from Venus.

Happy days eh?

Well us girls weren't completely left out of things --------- I used to get Bunty, Judy and Princess - and the occasional Beezer.

There was also Girl which was the female equivalent of Eagle.

I used to get Beano and Dandy, Bunty and Judy and Mandy.
Later Jackie, Honey, Petticoat and Fab 208. Loved them all.
I also used to get Annuals every Christmas. The Girl next door
got Rupert The Bear Annuals and used to pass them on to us.
When I look back, I was such a lucky girl. Posted Image

Another memory evoking topic,well done.
I remember all the above titles. I also remember some characters but not sure which comics they were in.Anyone remember Arnold Tabs The Blitz Kid,can't remember much about it but I had a mate name Brian Arnold and I would sometimes call him by that title. I later shortened it to Tabs. Another with a not very P.C. title was Limp Along Leslie. I think he was good at some sport or other even though he had a limp.
Another character already mentioned was Pansy Potter. But do you remember how she was introduced?" Pansy Potter the strongmans daughter."
