What a daft idea. The whole point of The Magic Weekend was to take our game to new parts of the country. There are about a dozen clubs within 30 minutes of Manchester City ground

This year when it was played in Wales they only got about twenty odd thousand there and it was played in February, with taking it to Manchester they are expecting more people will turn up but that is not promoting the game round here, they could have took down Bristol way.or some where around that area.

Personally I don't think we should even have these so called 'magic' weekends.
Reading about the first game at the new stadium, against Widnes, there are some fans who simply can't afford to go to a friendly. £100 for a family of four is a lot of money for a match which is a health and safety stadium test more than anything else.
If holding this weekend locally means more fans can attend then I'm all for it.

I agree CM seeing as it is a safety check for the club it should be free or a nominal charge for ad mission. I think the club is missing a good opportunity to pay back fans for attending last year

typical bloody stains.................making money out of a safety test, i reckon there will be over 1000 widnes fans there for this game.

I'd be amazed if Saints could afford any freebies after last season - gates down several thousand per game, no bar and refreshment revenue and, presumably, rent to Halton Council as well

Surely the way to do a proper test is to have the stadium as full as possible to a( reduced)capacity I have not even heard of any free tickets given to schools surely they have missed a trick there
